Originally planned as a short-term trial, the airline quickly expanded the service due to popular demand. This direct Caribbean flight is a win for travelers looking to escape the winter freeze and enjoy the Cayman Islands’ world-class hospitality and sun-drenched beaches.

With this new route, American Airlines boosts its seat capacity to Grand Cayman by 34% compared to the 2024–25 winter season.

A Boost for Cayman Islands Tourism

The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism praised the decision, calling it a sign of confidence in the destination’s growing appeal. “This additional flight is a testament to the Cayman Islands’ reputation as a luxury destination,” said Rosa Harris, Director of Tourism.

The added flight follows coordinated efforts by the Department of Tourism and the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce to improve air lift from the U.S. to the Caribbean.

This winter, American Airlines will offer eight daily flights from Grand Cayman to major U.S. hubs—Miami (MIA), Charlotte (CLT), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), and Chicago (ORD)—plus weekly service to Philadelphia (PHL).
