Cayman Airways Adds New Nonstop from Austin

New nonstop service from Austin, TX (AUS) to Grand Cayman (GCM)
Grand Cayman is now just one direct flight from Texas—and the island has never been hotter.

Big news for Texas travelers: Cayman Airways now operates weekly nonstop flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Owen Roberts International Airport in Grand Cayman. No layovers. No connections. Just three hours and you’re on island time.

The inaugural flight touched down on Sunday, May 24, 2026—and the celebrations were pure Cayman with dancing, live music, and complimentary rum punches at 30,000 feet.

The new nonstop departs Austin every Sunday at 12:45 pm,  arriving in Grand Cayman by 3:45 pm, making it a perfect setup for a week in the sun.

The return leg departs Grand Cayman on Sundays at 8:15 am and arrives back in the Lone Star State by 11:15 am.

The new flight will run through August 16, 2026. Since the flight operates only once a week, seats will sell out quickly. Airfare also rises sharply if you book less than 14 days before departure. Airfare is currently averaging $537 round-trip and $209 one way.

Texas already sends more visitors to the Cayman Islands than any other U.S. state, accounting for 11.5% of all American arrivals. Now, getting here will be seamless.

And here’s something worth knowing before you book: you’re not the only one who’s discovered this secret. The Cayman Islands is having its best tourism year on record—and the momentum is real.

Historical Travel Stats

April shattered previous records with stayover visitors topping 47,884 (+12% YoY), surpassing the island’s pre-pandemic high set in April 2019. The US posted its best April arrivals ever. Canada logged six consecutive months of double-digit growth. And March 2026 was the single best month in Cayman Islands tourism history.

The record start to 2026 places the island in a strong position to weather any headwinds heading into the summer season.

In other words: Grand Cayman isn’t just a great vacation destination—it’s THE destination everyone is choosing right now. The new Austin nonstop puts Texas travelers directly in the mix, with no detours through a major hub.
