Spirit Airlines is expanding its Caribbean network with a brand-new nonstop flight from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Cayman.
Launching December 4, 2025, the new direct service will operate three times weekly—on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays—between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM).
This new route marks Spirit’s return to the Cayman Islands after previously discontinuing the service in 2009. Now, with travel demand rising and the winter travel season approaching, the airline is reintroducing the route as part of its year-round service schedule.
Affordable Flights to the Cayman Islands
To celebrate the launch, Spirit is offering limited-time introductory fares starting at just $66 one-way from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Cayman and $165 from Grand Cayman to Fort Lauderdale. These low fares are available for booking between August 5–11, 2025, for travel between December 4, 2025, and February 11, 2026 (blackout dates apply between December 11 and January 20).
With more than 30 U.S. cities connected through one-stop service in Fort Lauderdale, Spirit’s expansion opens up new, budget-friendly ways to visit Grand Cayman—a top-rated destination known for its stunning beaches, luxury accommodations, and bucket-list attractions.
Boosting Air Access to the Cayman Islands
This announcement comes on the heels of multiple U.S. carriers—including United, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, American Airlines, and Cayman Airways—expanding their nonstop routes to the Cayman Islands for the 2025–2026 winter season.
“We are delighted to welcome Spirit Airlines back to the Cayman Islands,” said Rosa Harris, Director of Tourism. “This new route will boost airlift from Florida, one of our key tourism markets, and increase access for travelers seeking a Caribbean winter vacation.”
Whether you’re planning a winter escape to the Caribbean or looking for new, affordable ways to travel to Grand Cayman, Spirit’s latest route offers more flexibility and convenience than ever before.
